If you're ever in San Sebastian ...

If you're ever in San Sebastian ...

Hi Skaters and Skater-families,

We at SKATEABLE love to travel and always throw in the skateboards and gear when we are on the road.  There is something special about skating a new park in a far away land.

So, if you are ever in SAN SEBASTIAN (SPAIN), I'd like to recommend the following:

Head to the Skatepark de Aiete.  It's a short 10 minute drive (or Uber) up behind the La Concha (the main beach).  The skatepark is on the side of a hill and has an adjacent playground and mini soccer/basketball court for the non-skaters. There is plenty of parking on the road and the location is quiet and serene. The bowl is in good condition and suitable for all levels of skater.  There are banks and transitions next to the bowl that are mellow and easy for beginners.

While the skaters are busy at the skatepark, the non-skaters could also do the food and supplies shopping across the road at the large blue BM Supermarket.

San Sebastian has a number of other skateparks but Skatepark de Aiete is our favourite (we like it a lot and just keep going back).

I'd also recommend, if you're a surfer, to rent a board and wetsuit from the surf rental place at Toldos de Zurriola and have a surf at Zurriola beach.  It's a beautiful city beach with plenty of space and very user-friendly waves.

If you do get to skate (or surf) in San Sebastian, please drop us an email or comment below and let us know how things went.

The World is SKATEABLE,
Peter
